Ansichtssache, Matter of Opinion

The theoretical part of “Ansichtssache” (Matter of Opinion) examines aspects of microtypography that influence both the readability of printed texts and the possibilities thus arising for designers. It demonstrates how font selection itself is not what matters most, but also the necessity of knowledge, proficiency, sense and experience by the typographer. By using the criteria of the theoretical part, a type specimen was developed, which provides practical relevance and orientation in the multitude of available fonts.
