In order to enhance Fortnum & Mason’s confectionery collection, a new trio of chic novelty chocolate boxes conjures up enchanting stories that match the nature of the chocolates inside. The handdrawn illustrations are full of surprises, such as a black cat with a white mouse hidden between its paws and oyster bubbles that are in fact strings of pearls. Paw prints leading away from a mouse hole and a row of cotton stitches direct the observer around the edge of the package to provide a further layer of engagement. For one final element of discovery, small objects were hidden inside the lid of the box to be found by the customer.
