Qiao Jia – Lacquer Painting & Lacquer Ping-Feng

Designed for a solo exhibition by Qiao Jia, a Beijing artist of lacquer art, this picture book dedicates itself to the future of her artistic work. Following a similar approach as in her lacquer art, the exhibition and book merge hereditary lacquer art skills with a personal style, aimed at showing the special characteristics of the artist’s work. The publication has been designed to comprise three volumes that structure the content according to her oeuvre. One of the volumes features only text. The other two volumes compile the artist’s output, subdividing it into four categories and highlighting the special feature of being readable from both front to back and back to front.
