The business innovation magazine “Biz” scheduled an issue dedicated entirely to Singapore, a metropolis where art, design and business intertwine and flourish. The assignment was to design a cover able to engage well-travelled, smart readers, and to best capture Singapore’s pulse with maximum wit and minimal graphics. The approach was to create a wordmark inspired by Singapore’s architectural monuments, so each letter was in turn inspired by an actual monument. For example, the letter “S” represents the famous Merlion sculpture, the country’s national symbol.
