GAGA @ Wongtee Plaza Shenzhen

The design of this casual eatery at Wongtee Plaza in Shenzhen, China, adopts a similar sense of style as previous GAGA café designs, yet with enhanced appearance and geometric boldness. The aim was to create an environment that satiated both the energetic lifestyle of its patrons and the café’s delicate food. As the space has been designed across multiple levels, the walls, floor and ceiling showcase individual characteristics and offer an interesting play between lighting and furnishings. For example, the wooden drop ceiling running across parts of the café transforms into a metal mesh frame that supports hanging planters and even a sculptural lighting structure.
