A World without Longitude or Latitude

[Exhibition Design]

Client

Shenzhen Tiangongdangdai Culture Development Co., Shenzhen

Design

Deve Build, Shenzhen

Conceived as a collision of modern art with the thinking of traditional Chinese weaving crafts, this exhibition focuses on the perception of longitudes and latitudes. The artwork of eight artists is separated into independent spatial units. Each unit is controlled by the particularity of the artist and forms a unique “space spirit” to prevent them from interfering with each other. The high-ceiling exhibition space itself comprises longitudes and latitudes in separate planes in apparent disorder and freely encloses eight areas of art in a free form that is of utmost significance. All areas are interconnected and traversed by various doors and holes.
