The SoundDock® Portable Digital Music System is a speaker unit to which the iPod can be connected via the docking station as well as other mobile players via audio cables. The slim loudspeaker has a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, which provides the device with three hours of power. The rotating docking station, which disappears into the main body for transport purposes, doubles as a charger for the iPod. The Waveguide port serves as a handle, allowing the system to be carried easily. The remote control is clearly structured and enables the user to operate the system from anywhere in the room.
