The Prizeotel is a project by the designer Karim Rashid in “Designocrasy”. It is an expression of elaborate design, which not only addresses the elite but is affordable for everyone. For the designer this concept had to be smart and economical and at the same time accommodating and inspiring. Prizeotel is a pleasurable experience, for which the consumer has to pay little. It offers travellers a special experience and is ground breaking for the budget hotel market. “Today, design must prove its worth. In an inhumanely built environment it is supposed to offer us more enjoyment, more humane and more qualitative and aesthetic conditions. We have to advance by means of design. It has to improve and embellish our society. I have therefore tried, on a small scale, to create a spirit that makes it pleasant for people to stay at a budget hotel,” says Karim Rashid with a view to this hotel.
