Polo Passenger Car
The new Polo shows further improved proportions, recognisable in the dynamic basic shape with short overhangs. The tall, characteristic shoulders give a clear structure to the vehicle, and the strikingly modelled wheel arches render a masculine appearance. The new Polo face with its characteristic headlights, which form a visual whole together with the flat grille, emphasise width and convey a low, visual centre of gravity. The rear is also characterised by a geometrical order, so that the front, sides and tail appear as if cast in one piece. This design statement is illustrated by the conspicuous impression of “precision”, which is reflected in, for example, the small radii and the minimal seam design as well as the sharp sheet metal edges on the sides, in the area around the bonnet line, and on the tailgate. In line with a sustainability essential for VW, the design language of the new Polo is modern but not trendy. The dynamic character is not achieved by ostensible superficial effects but rather through a harmonic interplay of proportions, surface finishes, and treatment of lines as well as high-quality detailing. The Polo thus embodies the new design language of VW in a balanced manner.
