The development of the Instinct 12S regulator, designed to be “remarkably more comfortable”, focused in particular on the second stage, which the diver holds with his mouth. Volume distribution and the layout of the components are aligned to the facial contour, thus moving the centre of gravity significantly closer to the diver. The hose likewise runs closer to the head and is, accordingly, considerably shorter. The optimised centre of gravity and reduced weight relieve the jaw muscles. The shorter hose significantly reduces the risk of entanglement when diving inside a wreck. Moreover, the ergonomics of the purge button have been improved.
