While in the past, the measuring and mapping of buildings, streets and industrial sites was a cumbersome task, today’s laser scanners can render images of almost any architecture or environment in just a few minutes. The advantage of such measurement device is that they can be used to measure almost any environment. The Focus3D is a 3D laser scanner that lends a modern aesthetic approach to such devices and makes measurements easier through its enhanced functionality. Its compact form is innovative and lightweight; it has a footprint only slightly larger than DIN A5 and a depth of only 10 cm. The 3D laser scanner is thus easy to pack up, store and take to other locations. The Focus3D renders virtual images to millimetre accuracy and with a speed of 976,000 measurement points per second for detailed documentation and measurement results within a range of up to 120 metres. Based on laser technology, this device thus produces detailed three-dimensional images of complex environments and geometries in only a few minutes. The resulting image is an assembly of millions of 3D measurement points in colour that delivers an exact digital reproduction of the environment. The touch screen display of this 3D laser scanner has a clear arrangement and is intuitive to use. It resembles the displays commonly used on digital cameras and is highly intuitive to use.
