The design of the new smart fortwo is purist and progressive and reflects the philosophy of “FUN.ctional Design”. Attributes which are typical for smart such as the silhouette with short overhangs, the tridion cell and the attractive face also characterise the new generation in a changed form. The interior offers more room at the sides; a characteristic design element is the “Loop”, which features, for example, on the dashboard and doors. The sculptural two-section dashboard consists of a powerful and sensuous exterior section and a large, concave decorative section.

Statement by the jury

»Thanks to its subtle changes, the smart fortwo remains true to itself also in the new generation. The interior gains merit with more room at the side.«
