Averroes Edition – A Trialphabetical Sign

The Averroes Edition deals with the writings of the Andalusian philosopher Ibn Rušd, whose Latin Name was Averroes. The logo of the edition transforms the principle of multilingual editorial work into an identity-establishing signet. It is a typical aspect of editorial activities to work with manuscripts in different writing systems. Averroes wrote in Arabic and his works were translated into Hebrew and Latin. Therefore the logo shows parts of the first letters of the Arabic, Hebrew and Latin alphabet. As required, the logo can be supplemented by projectspecific additions.
