Gold paper is of enormous cultural significance in Chinese-speaking societies as a tribute for gods and ancestors. As a ritual product, it is used for the communication between the past and the present. The publication “Taiwan Gold Paper” consists of four volumes, which illustrate the history, legacies and significance of this iconic material, and attempts to communicate the beauty of gold paper illustrations. The thread-stitched volumes are designed by use of various printing techniques. A DIY box also encourages the reader to familiarise themselves with this tradition, step by step.
