BUSINESS KILLS

This graduation project aims at raising attention to the fact that the reason for the serious endangerment of wild animals is human greed. The underlying statement is that without trade there would be no illegal killing. Since the greed is often directed towards specific parts of the animal bodies, such as the horn of a rhinoceros, these animal body parts are depicted in gold. In order to convey that poaching is tantamount to direct murder, the animals are shown trapped in a guillotine, with the blade of the guillotine replaced by a bar code to symbolise that animals’ lives are treated like bargaining chips in the exchange of benefits.
