Mr. Pure Has a Dog

“Mr. Pure Has a Dog” disseminates the message that pure-bred dogs, often favoured by people, are actually heavily manipulated by humans. The book shows how dogs are bred and transformed, and it questions whether these dogs could actually survive in a natural environment. Visualising the metaphor that pure-breeding leaves many “scars” on the dogs, the stories in this picture book were made by burning lines onto wooden boards. Regarding the transformation of dogs, several elements for user interaction have been added to help bring the contents to life.
