LG G3 GUI

Based on the experiences collected with previous design concepts, the aim in creating the new concept for the LG G3’s graphic user interface was to reduce the design to the essential. Thus, the design refrains from unnecessary graphic elements, achieving an overall minimalist appearance. The result is an easy-to-understand, self-explanatory interface that allows users to focus more easily on the content. The key visual element appears in the shape of a circle, which is derived from the basic element in the LG logo and was chosen as a graphic motif, matching the basic grid-based Android layout, to imbue this with a dynamic and rhythmic appearance. Extending the maxim of minimalist design, pure primary colours were avoided in favour of more discreet and fashionable tones. The user-friendliness of this interface is further enhanced through a simple flip motion effect, which also adds richness to the flat 2D graphics.
