Makgeolli is a popular alcoholic drink from Korea made from rice. This packaging design featuring an artisan appeal was developed to illustrate the thick and creamy taste of Makgeolli and its traditional recipe. The roughly drawn key visual shows a farmer fermenting the so-called farmers’ liquor. The distinctive ink drawing and the Korean character “Yangchon” contrast with the gold background, which symbolises a field. The white colour of the bottle hints at the milky texture of the drink and visualises purity.
