The design of this monograph is an attempt to translate the architectural approach of the Düsseldorf-based architect Georg Döring into book form. With its block-like hardcover binding and uniform black colour scheme on the front cover, back cover, spine and cut pages, the book itself takes on a cube-like shape and appearance. The five grey squares on the cover wrap around and into the book block, emphasising this cubic impression. Inside the publication, the expansive and multifaceted design continues stringently in text flow, image layout and structure, alternating to enticing effect between positive and negative images.
