Tagesschau-App

The updated version of the Tagesschau-App shows news videos in vertical as well as horizontal format. This means that the smartphone does not need to be rotated to see a video in full-screen mode. If the smartphone is rotated while the video is running, it continues playing without interruption. This is enabled by Pictacrop, a tool for dynamic video cropping, developed especially for this app. Ten to fifteen videos on the start screen provide a quick overview of the latest news, while a click on each video provides users with more detailed information.
