Confucius’s Wrapping Cloth
In ancient Chinese culture, six disciplines formed the basis of education: writing, mathematics, archery, chariot riding, music and rites. The Six Arts became a part of Confucian philosophy and embody the values of ritual, self-discipline and social etiquette. In order to recall this traditional education and to share its values, the illustrations visualise the Six Arts as modern, colourful scenarios. The stylised motifs serve as emblems for a website, animations and brochures, yet also decorate various items of daily use, for instance a wrapping cloth.
