In clinical everyday practice, laboratory testing results must often be determined rapidly in order to plan further therapeutic steps. Based on an innovative centripetal technology platform, the revogene system can deliver microbial analysis results within just 70 minutes. The system is suitable for testing a wide range of biological samples directly at the point of care. It is composed of one single instrument that accepts single-use cartridges, named PIE’s, that have been developed to target specific infections. The instrument functions by safely performing a defined set of cycling conditions that activate the cartridge chemicals for testing the sample. The results are then displayed on the screen at the end of the analysis. Up to eight tests of different infections can be conducted simultaneously. Sophisticated in both form and function, the design of this device was designed to streamline the workflow and handling of the samples to be tested. The logically arranged user interface promotes safe and intuitive operation. A dissimulated LED ring permeates the otherwise opaque cover to provide visual feedback of the cycle progress during testing. Showcasing a design that is equally professional and appealing, the device offers new possibilities in sample testing and analysis – it contributes to saving lives by bringing the lab to the patient.
